Halloween only comes once a year and babies may not yet have been exposed to it, this can be scary for them.
On Halloween you can do much to help baby learn not to be scare. Walk outside and look at all the beautiful costumes or have baby be with you at the door when you greet neighborhood kids with their beautiful bright costumes.
But more than likely you will want to take baby out to a few houses and for that you want him/her to be dressed with a pretty costume. It is easier for baby if you go to the house of someone he knows, like an aunt or a friend.
Don’t be surprise if your little one takes more pleasure distributing Halloween candy than anything else. Even in doing so your little one might enjoy wearing a costume, and you will derive much pleasure watching him/her.
Parents looking for a costumes for a child younger than two have a lot of questions. Here are a few tips to help you find the right costume for your little one.
It should be flame resistant. For children safety is always a primary consideration, it is important to dress them in costumes that do not burn easily.
It should be easy to wear. For a baby or a toddler the costume should be easy to put on and take off. Remember you might have to change a diaper while baby is still all dressed up. Remember also that little children do not like something pulling on their head, so make sure the neck opening is large enough to slip on easily. You can choose a costume with an elastic or a large opening. Movement is also a factor, babies do not like to be constricted, be sure to choose a costume that allows for freedom of movement.
It should be comfortable. This is different from easy to wear although closely related. By comfort I mean do not choose a material that might irritate baby skin. Choose one that is soft to the touch. Notice where buttons and zippers are located as they could occasion some discomfort.
There are many places where you can find costumes for babies: Department stores, and toy stores will both be carrying some for Halloween but not during other times of the year. On line many costume shops will always have them available. During the Halloween season you might also find some in children’s clothing stores.
